The geometry of pipe junctions can have a significant effect on engine gas dynamics. Lotus Engine Simulation includes a junction model which characterises the pressure-loss effects induced by the junction geometry on the gas flow whilst requiring minimal user data input. The model can accommodate junctions formed by any number of pipes, with any area ratio and any inter-branch angle.
