The Element MPI (Merchant Plug-In) for Acquiring banks and Payment Service Provides connects the Merchant during a 3-D Secure transaction to a centralized Brand directory, as well as to the Cardholder's Issuing bank for authentication before submitting the transaction for processing.
The Element MPI is a not just another JAVA API. It's a fully featured Java-based application, designed to run on several platforms (Sun Solaris, HP-UX, Windows NT/2000 and others) and using different databases, among them Oracle 8i database and MS SQL Server. Customization of the Element MPI including support for specific databases can be discussed.
The Element MPI complies with 3-D Secure version 1.0.2 + errata and it can handle instalment and recurring transactions, and card range caching.
The Element MPI is easy to integrate into the Merchant site. It offers Merchants better protection against charge-backs in case of credit card fraud due to the liability shift. It supports multi-currency.
The Element MPI Back Office can be used for the consultation and the management of transactions and the management of Merchants and Administration staff members, all in accordance with the access level of the staff member.
