Additional Product Information

Flexible parameter maintenance
All parameters are maintained by authorised users via user-friendly, intuitive, web-based screens. Processing rules can be changed as and when it is needed and without any programming effort. This shortens time-to-market for any change that is required and provides the bank with a high degree of flexibility to respond to changing customer and market demands.

Promoting automated processing
One of the main objectives for TietoEnator’s software portfolio of payment solutions is to enable a bank to achieve the highest possible levels of STP. ProDirectory provides a tool kit enabling a bank to achieve this and the business parameters in ProDirectory are used to promote maximum levels of automated processing in all payment components. For example, by automatically verifying, deriving and building payment details in ProPay and providing the bank-specific rules controlling automated message repair in ProRepair.

Pre-defined business rules
For certain areas of ProDirectory data (e.g. automated repair in ProRepair) TietoEnator provides a complete set of pre-defined business rules. These rules address the types of STP issues facing most banks, while ProDirectory provides the configuration tool enabling banks to modify or enhance these rules to address bank-specific repair issues.

User administration and authorisation
ProDirectory provides the tools required to define user roles and authorisation details, together with organisation structures controlling business and processing workflows.

Automated static data upload
ProDirectory also includes automated load functions in order to load and update data electronically from external sources, for example: BIC+, ISCD, TARGET2 Directory, and Fedwire. Automated load facilities and control routines reduce the amount of manual effort required to update these critical sources of data and make such data available to the various components and functions in the payment processing environment. It is possible to update the master data once this has been loaded. Such manual updates will not be overwritten in a subsequent data load.

Web channel leverage
TietoEnator offers a technical infrastructure enabling a bank to integrate services and functions from TietoEnator’s Global Payment Solution to the bank’s application environment. In this way, the bank’s web channel can leverage the data and validation rules and functions held in ProDirectory, thereby avoiding duplication in these areas. For example, payment capture screens in a bank’s web channel can re-use table look-up, data validation and more complex data derivation functions using ProDirectory data.

Additionally, corporate clients can access relevant data in ProDirectory through the ProLiquidity application enabling the client to enter and maintain its own agreements directly within the bank-defined authorisation and authentication framework.

Multi-bank processing opportunities
ProDirectory provides the infrastructure for defining business parameters within multi-banking hierarchies, both within a banking group, when insourcing another bank's transaction processing or defining data-dependencies for 'transaction banking' or 'factory operations'. Data can be shared where appropriate (e.g. Bank Holiday calendar, BIC+) or held separately. Data segregation principles, based on 'Chinese Walls', can also be applied.
