RUMNUT is a computer program that takes the latest, complex international (UK, USA, French) feeding standards and uses the power of the computer to resolve the mathematical complexities of their application whilst the user can concentrate on the 'art' of ration formulation. Rations can be formulated for dairy cows, suckler cows, beef and young stock and breeding sheep. Once an initial ration has been drawn up changes can be made rapidly to determine the best combination of ingredients for a specific ration. The main features of the program are
Designed for animal production professionals including farmers, feed company personnel, veterinary surgeons and agricultural consultants.
Allows you to formulate rations to international standards without becoming involved in the complex mathematics. Uses the metabolisable protein system (as recently revised from 1992 standards) and the new minerals (1991)and energy (1990) standards. NEW Alternative protein calculations can be examined according to the Australian (UDP, 1990), French (PDI, 1990), USA (2001) and a derivation of the FiM system (2002) based on the UK and USA systems.
Rationing advice system. The program will detect a wide range of nutritional problems within a ration and offer advice and guidance as to their significance and control. The level of advice is user controllable.
An 'Un-Do' facility to reverse any of the last 50 changes that have been made to a ration; reversals can themselves be reversed.
Full mouse control of all facilities including intelligent feed amount entry.
Up to 990 feeds available to include in any ration any one of which may be ad lib with up to 12 feeds in any one ration.
Formulate rations specific to each farm's needs using farm-specific animal details, forage analyses, milk quality and payments.
Ration saving facility allows for later ration modifications with minimal effort.
Calculates financial margins over all feeds, purchased feeds and concentrates for dairy and beef cattle. Additional windows allow for trace element assessment, inclusion rates, supplementary analyses, full ration specification and ration budgeting.
Tracks a wide range of trace elements comparing requirements with dietary supply after taking into account any trace element interactions.
Integral make a mix facility allows you to formulate complete diets or pre-mixes from the animals formulated ration using up to 15 ingredients.
