PISDYN
PISDYN is an advanced simulation package for the design and analysis of piston assemblies. It simulates the lubrication of the piston-liner interface and the wrist pin bearing based on its calculation of the forces, torques and secondary motions of the piston, wrist pin and connecting rod as a function of crank angle over a complete engine cycle.

Additional Product Information
Typical Applications;====================;-Design parameters that can be investigated and optimized are: skirt profile, pin offset, skirt wall thickness, piston geometry, extent of skirt lubricated zone, skirt-bore cold clearance, and pin bearing lubricated extent. ;-The effects of these parameters on motion, forces and moments, friction loss, scuffing, wear load, contact, kinetic energy, piston slap and skirt elastic deformations can be investigated. ;PISDYN can be used for performance prediction in new designs or as a powerful troubleshooting utility.;.;Key Features;============;-Monoblock or articulated piston simulations with any possible combination of floating or fixed wrist pin connectivity. ;-Arbitrary skirt, crown land and bore distortion profiles. ;-Spatially resolved hydrodynamic and asperity contact lubrication of skirt-bore and wrist pin bearing. ;-Elastohydrodynamic lubrication of skirt bore. ;-FE pre-processor generates thermal expansion, pressure, inertial deformations and compliance matrix of piston for simulation input. ;-Gravitational effects of inclined liner. ;-Advanced easy to use graphical post processor. ;-Cyclic plots viewed using RPLOT. ;-Validated by Ricardo and users worldwide.
