Ratabase Next Generation by CGI

6.72 - What's this?

Ratabase Next Generation is designed to speed the development and implementation of rating logic for financial products. Fullfilling the role of the rating engine component within your application system, Ratabase Next Generation reduces the time and cost of maintaining the rating function. The conceptual model is twofold: the business concept which enables business specialists to develop, manipulate, test, and update the business rules related to rating, thereby eliminating the dependency on IT personnel; and the technological concept that provides for clearly segregated development and production environments.

Additional Product Information

Ratabase Next Generation's complete approach allows for collaborative development through a multi-user development model, flexibility of design, extensibility across many financial products, and time savings both in development and maintenance. Managing your rating needs within all your financial products, Ratabase comprises four major components: Ratabase Workstation, Ratabase Database, Ratabase Calculator, and Ratabase Interface.;The Ratabase Workstation is a Windows-based, 32-bit application which allows the user to create, modify, and test rating metholodologies within the Ratabase Database prior to implementation.;The Ratabase Database is a client- or server-base data repository for all the rating elements developed within the Ratabase Workstation. One Ratabase Database is developed and maintained at the Ratabase Workstation level, then the data is transferred to one or more platforms for a production application.;The Ratabase Calculator uses the process and rating information from the Ratabase Interface to calculate results using the Ratabase Database. The Calculator is portable and is available on a wide range of platforms (NT, UNIX, MVS, etc). The Ratabase Calculator accesses the rates and rules stored in the Ratabase Database based on the data elements captured in the application system. Once the Ratabase Calculator plugs the rates into the rules, it calculates the results that are returned to the application system via the Ratabase Interface.;The Ratabase Interface is the communication link between your application system and the Ratabase Calcultor. The Interface is responsible for transferring the rating elements collected in the application system to the Ratabase Calculator and returning the calculated results back to the application system.
