A popular use for Add2Outlook for Contacts is for mobile professionals who need to view their public and private Outlook contacts on their PDAs, Pocket PCs, Smartphones, or BlackBerry handhelds. Add2Outlook for Contacts can copy contact folders from public to private, so Active Sync, etc. can then sync them down to the mobile device.
Add2Outlook for Contacts works with three Outlook folders: private (mailbox), public (group), and PST (off the Exchange server). With Add2Outlook, users can replicate/synchronize their contact folders from private to public, public to private, private to private, PST to private, PST to public, private to PST, public to PST, or PST to PST (with the same folder).
Add2Outlook for Contacts offers the user two contact relationships of their choice, which is usually set up for bi-directional synchronization. During installation, the user configures the desired contact folder relationship. A contact folder relationship is defined by one “source” folder (private/public) and one “destination” folder (private/public). Once established, new contact entries created in the source folder will be automatically copied to the destination folder. Then, the original entry in the source and the copy in the destination are “tied” together, so any changes to either folder are auto-synchronized to all related or “tied” folders.
For 2-way replication, create a second relationship where the source folder in the 1st relationship is now chosen as the destination folder in the 2nd relationship and the destination folder in the 1st relationship is chosen as the source folder in the 2nd relationship - basically a mirror image of the first relationship.
