Reliable, Continuous Operation
With a hard disk at each lane, BASSpoiNT allows for continuous operation - even when the server is not available - by scanning from a local PLU file and temporarily spooling all data collect and electronic journal information to the local disk until the server comes back online.
Item pricing capabilities are as powerful as ever with four separate item prices, each with up to 18 pricing methods available. Other features of BASSpoiNT include global suspend/resume capabilities; coupon scanning, validation and multiplication; "picnic-basket" pricing; loans and pickups from any lane; WIC item definition; electronic funds transfer; check writing; frequent buyer; and enhanced receipt printing, including store logos and savings totals at the bottom of the receipt.
With Sybase?s SQL Anywhere relational database on the POS server and on each POS terminal, the PLU file, parameters and all database information are continually replicated across the system, providing a robust, dependable solution. Complete transaction information is kept in an extensive data collect file, providing a full record of every transaction from the POS. BASSpoiNT offers many levels of security, including a server sign-on procedure integrated with Windows NT, scannable ID badges, training mode, supervisor overrides, timed auto-lock at the POS, and terminal monitoring from the server.
