TCI's flexible Store Solutions consist of a base system and a series of application modules that help ensure pricing and data accuracy throughout each store. Store Merchandise Manager (SMM), which serves as the base system for all store products, contains a store-specific database of information pertaining to vendors, items, departments, categories, price link codes, accounting codes, cost link codes and more. This enables stores to keep track of costs, special deals and allowances, and to make certain they are applied as merchandise is received. It also ensures that established pricing rules are used in;determining retail prices.;The level of store interaction with the system is determined and controlled by headquarters. Pricing and item maintenance can be handled by headquarters and downloaded to the stores, or store personnel can be empowered to perform some or all of these functions. Key application modules include Perpetual Inventory; Movement Analyzer; Purchase Orders, Receivers and Transfers; Store Ordering; Response Pricing; Signs and Labels; POS Exchange; Wireless Exchange and InterScale.
