FullWAVE is a highly integrated CAD and simulation program for design of complex photonic devices. The software employs the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method for simulation, which allows analysis of devices, such as photonic bandgaps and ring resonators, that can not be modeled with techniques such as the efficient beam propagation method (BPM) which is used in RSoft's BeamPROP and similar packages. The main control program is BeamPROP's complete CAD layout system for design of waveguide devices and circuits, and controls simulation features such as numerical parameters, input field, and display and analysis options. The FullWAVE simulation module, which can be executed within the main program or standalone, performs the actual simulation and provides a graphical display of the field and other quantities of interest for analysis.
