AN-SOF is an innovative antenna software for the modeling of 3D arbitrarily shaped wire structures and the computation of their electromagnetic responses, including currents and voltages in passive circuits as well dynamic electromagnetic fields in antennas.

Several features are integrated, such as conformal geometry, 3D graphical user interfaces and CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools for the input data, while xy-charts, polar plots, 3D radiaton patterns, and Smith charts for the output data.

The computer code is based on an Electric Field Integral Equation (EFIE) expressed in the frequency domain. The current distribution on metallic structures is computed by solving the EFIE using a full-wave Method of Moments (MoM) formulation with conformal geometry decomposition. This means that geometry details are modeled by using conformal segments, which exactly follow the contour of the structure, instead of the typical approximation with straight wire segments.

With this innovative technique, the number of unknown currents, simulation time and memory space can be reduced, allowing for the solution of bigger problems. Besides, advanced calculation techniques are implemented in the full-wave MoM, making possible simulations from extremely low frequencies (e.g. electric circuits) to very high ones (e.g. WiFi antennas).

The 3D geometry is easily drawn on the screen by means of a especially designed CAD interface with mouse support.
