The AMaze series of programs offers the ultimate in three-dimensional finite-element solution power for personal computers. The programs apply fully-conformal hexahedronal meshes for accurate representation of material surfaces. Field Precision's unique mesh-generation technology creates shaped elements while preserving a strict logical structure. As a result, the programs achieve excellent numerical accuracy, make efficient use of computer resources and operate at high speed. Most important, the affordable prices of the AMaze programs make them accessible to universities, small laboratories and consultants. The MetaMesh universal generator is the foundation of all AMaze applications. The automatic generator makes mesh creation fast and easy through streamlined self-documenting input scripts and extensive graphical capabilities . The solution programs use dynamic memory allocation and direct computation in RAM for high speed. A standard PC with 512 MB of memory can handle several million nodes. Packages available in 2003 include electrostatics, magnetostatics with linear materials and permanent magnets, thermal transport with temperature-dependent materials and charged particle optics. Each solution package includes an interactive graphical post-processor optimized for the application.
