Additional Product Information
Century Dynamics, Inc. (CDI) is a twelve year old company dedicated to the development of state of the art software to solve problems involving fluid structure interaction high speed impacts, penetrations, large deformations, explosions and other phenomena with high stress/strain rates. Our product, AUTODYNş, is the only commercial, integrated program used by a worldwide community of engineers and scientists for a full range of non-linear applications. ;AUTODYN incorporates all of the capabilities needed to simulate complex non-linear phenomena with an integrated interactive graphical user interface that is intuitive, easy to learn and can be used effectively by highly sophisticated researchers as well as new users. Our customers have used AUTODYN to improve the results of experiments, to design higher performance and lower cost products, and to study the response of complex materials. ;Consistently the results of AUTODYN calculations have been verified and correlated with experimental data, giving our user community a very high level of confidence in the program. ;The main focus of our development effort is to enhance user productivity. This goal is achieved by providing:;· State of the art computational techniques utilizing a combination of the methods best suited for a specific problem. Coupling Lagrange, Euler, ALE, Shell Beam and SPH Processors and incorporating other enhancements such as erosion with retained inertia and a very robust contact algorithm.;· A single, intuitive, easy to use graphical user interface for all three phases of analysis: pre-processing, processing and post-processing.;· Visualization capabilities for conveniently viewing data in various formats, producing animation, numerous types of color plots and the ability to integrate and display experimental data with simulated results.;· Robust algorithms and capabilities that enable calculations to produce results with minimal user intervention. An overwhelming majority of problems set up with AUTODYN will run to completion with no user assistance. Most other programs of this type require continued user intervention and assistance to complete large complex calculations.;· Extensive material library with over 250 material models. The material libraries can be easily extended to include totally new materials or modified versions of an existing material model.;· Open architecture, incorporating the facility for the users to extend the capabilities of the program with modifiable user subroutines and user definable program variables. AUTODYN includes a comprehensive set of equations of state, material strength and material failure models. These can all be extended by modifying the existing models or providing a new and different model. Template user subroutines ready for the insertion of new logic are included with the program.;· On line help with complete, context sensitive information and full on line documentation.;AUTODYN is provided on essentially all computer platforms of interest, from personal computers and workstations to supercomputers. The price of the program varies depending on the computer platform used. It is available in the form of an annual license or a paid-up license, with subsequent annual maintenance. Maintenance, included in the annual license and in the paid-up license for the first 12 months, provides automatic updates of the software with each new release, complete documentation in machine readable form and hot line support for problem determination.;Simulation is evolving as the third key branch of science augmenting experimentation and theory. AUTODYN is ideally suited to accelerate the design of products and experiments and their redesign. The use of the program can enhance the creativity of engineers and scientist to imagine innovative and new ideas by providing additional insight into how things work under various conditions that are too expensive or impractical to observe experimentally.;To further facilitate the solution of complex three dimensional problems, CDI is collaborating with XYZ Scientific App
lications of Livermore California, the developers of the program TrueGrid®. TrueGrid is, an extremely powerful mesh generator and preprocessor that can produce high quality meshes for use directly by AUTODYN. Using the projection method, detailed meshes can be produced with minimal effort by the user for simulating complex three dimensional geometries. For more details see http://www.truegrid.com ;Scheduled training classes are offered approximately every 3 to 4 months. The introductory training class is three days in length. We also offer customer specific training in our office in California or at the customer's facility.;Our Internet Web pages located at http://www.autodyn.com also contain information and sample calculations that you may find informative.
