It supports banking activities associated with incoming and outgoing clean documentary collections, as well as direct collections and audits. This system incorporates features such as Issuance, Payment, Tracing, Protest, Status Reporting, Amendment, Inquiry, Management Information, Accounting, and other functions. ;Bank to Bank Reimbursements; This module was developed to facilitate the high volume reimbursement activities typically associated with third party reimbursement agents. The Reimbursement module accommodates the recording of Reimbursement Authorizations from Correspondent Banks and provides the capability to honor claims against the authorization under the Credit. Other features include the automatic recording of Authorizations to Reimburse upon receipt of S.W.I.F.T. MT740 from the Issuing Bank and the processing of claims under credits where authorization has not been received and it is necessary to obtain approval from the Issuing Bank.;Clean Acceptances; This module provides for financing for Corporates, Correspondent Banks, or other financial institutions. All acceptances created through this module can be processed through the Banker's Acceptance Trading and Portfolio Management System, another module in the BANKTRADE line. (See below);Banker's Acceptance Trading and Portfolio Management; This module caters to the Sales and Purchase of Acceptances with other financial institutions and is designed to expedite the bank's secondary acceptance market. Acceptances can also be anticipated (paid prior to maturity), with an option to rebate interest to the customer on discounted acceptances, either at the original discount rate or at a different rate, while posting the difference to a P/L account. In addition, acceptances that were not originally discounted at creation can be discounted at any time prior to maturity.;Bonds and Guarantees;A comprehensive processing and information management system for bond guarantees and all similar financial and performance indemnity products, the Bonds and Guarantees System will automatically bill or debit for fees on a periodic schedule identified by the operator on the instrumental level. Fees can be ;taken up front or in arrears, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually, or for the fixed term of the instrument.;Loans/Advances;Loans/Advances is a comprehensive commercial loan system, which can be utilized to process many Loan/Advance types including, but not limited to, Packing Credit Loans (Pre-export financing), Trust Receipt Loans and Export Negotiation Loans. The Loan/Advance System can be integrated with both the Letter of Credit and Collection modules or used as a stand-alone product. Loans/Advances can be granted with fixed or floating rates, and the system accommodates all types of interest bases (Prime, Hibor, Sibor, etc.) and spreads (a percentage above or below the interest base).;Funds Transfer/Remittances;This module functions as a complete payment and receiving system for all forms of funds transfer, and accommodates settlement through methods such as S.W.I.F.T., Chips, Chaps, Fed Funds, checks and drafts. Incoming/Outgoing;S.W.I.F.T Incoming allows for the automated creation of BANKTRADE transactions without operator intervention as a result of Incoming S.W.I.F.T. messages. For example, upon receipt of an MT700/701, an Export Advise (or Confirm depending upon field :49:) transaction is automatically created. All messages are cataloged and stamped with the date and time. Messages accommodated in the Incoming process include, but are not limited to, MT700/701, MT710/711, MT720/721, MT707 and MT 400. ;For Outgoing S.W.I.F.T. messages, BANKTRADE automatically formats and edits messages within the 4XX and 7XX series in addition to the MT100 and MT202. Upon approval of the underlying transaction, if the message would result in a NAK, the system will prohibit approval of the underlying transaction until the necessary adjustments are made. If the messages pass editing, all relevant messages are written on-line to a S.W.I.F.T. interface file for delivery to the bank's S.W.I.F.T. device.;Telex Incoming/Outgoing;Incoming Telexes can be received where the operator can 'cut and paste' data, utilize the message as a 'top and tail,' or do a combination of both.;For Outgoing Telexes, upon approval of the underlying transaction, all relevant telex messages are written on-line to a Telex interface file for delivery to the bank's Telex device.;Faxlincs; This client fax interface electronically converts designated correspondence directly to outgoing fax transmissions, without using any paper. Incoming faxes can be captured using Image Processing and the system catalogs dates and time stamps all messages. It is extremely useful for bid bond customers, clients who want prenotification or advising, special service clients, or clients who require immediate information but may not be candidates for Customer Bridge.;Report Generator;A Windows-based feature, the Report Generator allows the user to access all data elements in the BANKTRADE database and to build expressions using Logical, String, Mathematical and Date operators to create sophisticated reports. The rules can be configured according to customer, Incoterms, product, country, or any combination thereof.;At time of negotiation, a user-defined checklist can be generated to assist the Documentary Credit clerk with document checking. An additional option is also available that will provide an interactive document checking facility.;Image Processing;Image Processing provides for the scanning of documents and will automatically index scanned documents to specific customers or transactions. For example, scanned signature cards can be indexed to the appropriate customer then, when an Import Credit is created for that customer, signature cards can be displayed for signature verification during the Issue stage. Scanned shipping documents can also be indexed to the underlying payment transaction and then retrieved at any time for review or printing.;Credit Line/Facility Management;Credit lines and facilities can be granted to customers and correspondent banks and can be broken down into sub limits. Each limit/sub-limit can be granted for specified products or for all products, depending upon the agreement with the customer. In addition, credit lines and facilities that have been granted to your bank by correspondent banks can be recorded and all credit lines and facilities will be monitored by BANKTRADE for risk-based transaction types processed by the BANKTRADE family of products.;Workflow Management; This option allows you to monitor all transactions created with any of the modules in the BANKTRADE family. At any point an operator can inquire as to the status of a transaction and the system provides managers with the necessary tools to prioritize and re-assign work as well as to obtain statistics regarding productivity and pricing.;Geographic Sub-systems;Many banks require functions that are unique to the way trade finance is carried out in their part of the world. BANKTRADE provides several geographically specific sub-systems, including an Asian Sub-system, which provides for (among other functions) the processing of Trust Receipts and Packing Credits, and a Latin American Sub-System, which features Convenio and Activo/Pasivo. In addition, for each country, reporting is available as required by the Central Bank.;Purchase Order; The Purchase Order module provides for inventory control of detailed merchandise descriptions, which some importers include as an integral part of the terms of the credit. Each purchase order item can include quantity, description, unit price, extension amount, shipping instructions and a shipping variance.;When issuing or amending a credit, the purchase order system will ensure that the total amount of all PO items is equal to the LC value and prompt the operator if there is a discrepancy.;Upon receiving merchandise, the operator need only input the quantity shipped for each item and BANKTRADE will compare it to the outstanding balance. ;Multibank; The Multibank system consolidates reports from different operating entities, such as regional divisions or specialized units, while retaining the data integrity of each unit. With Multibank, processing can be centralized or de-centralized, as the bank requires.;SMART;To guarantee outstanding quality of deliverables, CSI developed an automated regression-testing tool called SMART (Systems Managed Automated Regression Test). SMART also solves a resource problem at the client site in regards to testing of future upgrades and training for new functionality, therefore addressing the whole cycle of the relationship with our clients.;Consultation Services;Complex Systems provides excellent consultation services in four critical areas: project management, education services, programming services and documentation/ graphic services. Finally, CSI can provide you with interactive multimedia demos customized to your particular BANKTRADE/Customer Bridge package to share with your clients and prospects.;CSI Business Model - Front Office;CSI's Customer Bridge for Windows Family of Products are a suite of trade and payment related front-end systems for use by corporate customers. All the following Customer-side products are available for PC and Internet use. Designed to facilitate banking transactions, they provide the following functionality:;' Import Customer Bridge for Windows. The original product in CSI's Windows family, Customer Bridge for Windows allows users to work with and manage their import letter of credit and other documentary credit transactions (including guarantees and standby LC's). It incorporates all phases of LC processing from issuance to amendment and it provides the ability for the bank to pass back to the customer's PC details about payments, fees or acceptances related to each LC. Customer Bridge for Windows also incorporates a purchase order module, which allows the user to associate purchase order details to individual letters of credit.;' Export Customer Bridge. One of the newest members of the Customer Bridge Family, the Export Bridge allows the user to work with and manage his or her export LC transactions. Designed as a workstation, the system will allow a bank to electronically communicate export LC text and data to its customers. Since the exporter may receive some letters through other banks, the system allows for ;manual entry of those credits which are advised via other financial institutions. Processing programs within the system give the exporter tools to manage their ex-port LC activities, including the ability to age and sort receivables by a variety of criteria (e.g., buyer, country, negotiating bank, etc.). In addition, the system provides an optional forms generation sub-system which lets the exporter create his shipping or other claim documents on screen. These forms are designed in such a way so as to automatically populate each document with required data or text from the letter of credit itself. For example, the invoice document will automatically include the merchandise description exactly as conveyed in the letter of credit instrument. Not only does this facilitate the document creation process, but also it helps to minimize letter of credit discrepancies. ;' Collections Customer Bridge. Another new product, Collections Customer Bridge allows users to work with and manage their collection and open account transactions. Users can easily create a direct collection letter (DCL) on screen, after which it can be printed and sent with the shipping documents to the collecting bank. An electronic file is also sent to the user's bank for follow-up tracing and ultimate settlement of the item. Collections Customer Bridge offers as an option the same forms generation sub-system used in CSI's Export Customer Bridge. With it the user can create shipping or other documents on screen, simplifying what otherwise can be a very time consuming task. Collections Customer Bridge is sold as either a separate system or in tandem with Export Customer Bridge as a complete ex-porter's workstation.;' Funds Transfer & Drafts Customer Bridge. The Funds Transfer & Drafts system allows corporate customers to originate wire transfer instructions within their own offices and then to transmit them electronically to their bank(s) for processing. This system also allows customers to request issuance of foreign currency drafts, which can be printed either at the customer's location or at a nearby branch of the bank for delivery to the customer.;MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT MODULES;Each system is supported by administrative or other modules, which add specialized functionality. The most important of these are the Bank Administrator and System Administrator modules. The Bank Administrator provides tools for the bank to configure the system, including the following:;' Set up table and account master file (or, customer information file) data.;' Set up time and date formats.;' Substitute bitmaps for the system's wallpaper, log-on and report graphics. This tool allows each bank or Customer Bridge user to customize the overall appearance of the system, with no programming required.;' Change the language of the system. The system allows for the translation of all screen literals, menus, system and error messages into one or more different languages. This is a powerful utility that allows each bank to further customize the system in a meaningful way, i.e., to present the system in the user's native language.;The System Administrator module provides a database administration function at the customer's location. This includes the all-important user security setup and maintenance function. Each of the Customer Bridge products offers flexible security structures, thereby permitting individual customers to define their own security parameters. These options include:;' The ability to grant (or deny) functional, approval or reporting access to individual users.;' An option to establish transactional and daily, aggregate approval limits by individual user.;' The option to establish password expiration dates and to define the minimum number of days between password changes.;In addition to the Bank and System Administrator modules, a posting module is offered that provides bank-side processing functions. It allows the user to assign reference or sequence numbers to transactions, calculate fees, process payments and generate accounting data. For banks using a Customer Bridge product outside of CSI's BANKTRADE processing system, this module can also prepare SWIFT or telex files, or, if the item is to be sent by mail, print out paper copies.;In addition to a number of standard reports provided in each system, an optional Report Generator is available. With this tool, the user can create specialized reports that suit the particular needs of management, ac-counting and audit functions within the company.;Also available as options are DDEs (dynamic data exchanges) to both Microsoft Word and Excel. These tools allow the user to ex-tract data from the Customer Bridge database to create documents or reports using the powerful functionality inherent within both Word and Excel.;The features of the Customer Bridge products are designed to provide the following benefits to the user:;' Overall ease of use. Each system is de-signed to make the underlying process simple.;' Easy maintenance. To a large extent the user can maintain all of the Customer Bridge products directly. The amount of support the bank must provide is reduced in proportion to the degree of responsibility the bank allows the customer.;' Reliable reporting. Because each of the products provide ways for the bank and the customer to exchange information about transactions in process, the customer's PC database can be used to generate accurate, reliable reports. This benefits both the user and the bank ' the customer can generally satisfy most of his or her informational needs directly from the PC, and the bank minimizes the degree of inquiries or investigations which it must conduct on the customer's behalf.;For banks using CSI's BANKTRADE processing system, the exchange of data discussed above is completely automated. Whenever there is activity at the bank for a Customer Bridge user ' on whatever module 'programs within BANKTRADE' create the appropriate files and send them to the customer's PC. This requires no intervention or special processing on the part of the bank but ensures that the customer's database is kept current at all times. ;CSI's Customer Bridge family of Windows products is sold as stand alone systems or may be integrated into a suite.
