Additional Product Information

;;;; ;;;It is no longer necessary for Elected Officials and/or City Staff to worry about creating and maintaining their city's web site. City governments, though desiring to take advantage of the internet and its benefits to citizens, cannot be expected to be web page developers and experts in internet functionality. Besides the expense of employing qualified staff, hiring a consultant, developer, and establishing design teams, a City incurs a tremendous hardware, software, maintenance, and internet service expense. CommunityCreator, by KnowledgeWorks, allows a city to receive a greater "bang-for-the-buck" for the dollars they spend towards web page operation. What's more, costs can be eliminated entirely through private sector sponsorship.
;
;Electronic mail, in conjunction with internet technology, is another application which can create headaches for any City's staff. Public record retention issues, staff accessibility, software and hardware requirements, and server down-time problems, can be expensive issues to resolve. CommunityCreatoroffers an internet based email system, which not only allows for greater staff accessibility, but also provides a means of auto archiving electronic mail to assist in public records law compliance. Cities benefit by no longer needing to fund email servers, associated service agreements, and staffing expense necessary to set-up and perform periodic maintenance, etc.
;City Staff and Residents will enjoy the opportunity to customize their internet home page with information specific to their city. Besides the common internet icons, their home page can contain information about the local weather, a city calendar with upcoming meetings and events, and even links to City departments allowing users to go directly to paying bills, looking up information, etc.
;
;CommunityCreator Features
;
;Neighborhood Links. City Neighborhood Associations will each be provided with their own web page space for them to place information about their neighborhood, Board of Director's information, on-line deed restrictions or rules, and other data as may be desired.
;
;On-line Calendar. Citizens, business owners, and organizations will be able to share a common city calendar where information is conveniently and interactively compiled and displayed. For example, a local garden club will be able to place events on the City's calendar, and by providing mailing lists, can arrange for reminder messages to be electronically sent to members prior to each event. Entries are sorted by categories such as entertainment, sports, yard-sales, etc, therefore viewers can filter their version of the calendar to reflect only items of interest to them.
;On-line bill paying. Any citizen, whether on their own PC, or while library access points, can pay City utility bills on-line. Along with City owned utility payments, telephone, cable, electric, gas bill will also be available for on-line bill paying. Cities can even bill citizens electronically, thereby saving on postage, printing, envelopes, paper, and labor expenses. Upon sign-up, citizens can receive bills and payment confirmation, through electronic mail, and they can view an online statement of previous payments and related transactions. Application integration is also available which would allow automatic posting to in-house applications.
;
;On-line Auctions. Surplus equipment from City Departments can be disposed off via an on-line auction system. Photos can be provided when appropriate, and minimum bid limits can be easily set up by City users. Relationships with private not-for-profits can also be developed, allowing listing of surplus equipment by other organizations.
;
;Occupational Licenses. Professionals can easily renew their occupational licenses on-line, and can be given to appropriate business web sites. Also, citizens can verify whether a business is properly licensed.
;
;Job Postings. Along with City jobs, private sector employment opportunities can be posted free of charge by City business.
;
;Kiosk Access. Kiosks can be located across the City allowing access to city web sites. Citizens not owning a computer, or those without their computer nearby, can still enjoy the benefits of on-line bill paying and access to public information through the use of these conveniently located kiosks.
;
;Bid postings. Purchasing information including lists of current Requests for Proposals and Bids can be displayed with on-line response capability.
;
;Electronic Records. CITYMAX can store and archive data on any media. Green Bar paper can be eliminated for good!
