DistrictBuilder
DistrictBuilder is open source web-based software designed to give the public transparent, accessible, and easy-to-use on-line redistricting tools. Much of the work of redistricting takes place behind closed doors. Legislators and political consultants decide which streets or neighborhoods are in or out, specialists make the maps, and the public has little opportunity to weigh in. With DistrictBuilder, municipal, county, and state governments can allow specific officials, the public, or both to create and submit district plans, support redistricting competitions, and keep the entire process open. In addition to legislative redistricting, DistrictBuilder's flexibility accommodates school districts, police districts, and many other redistricting needs.

DistrictBuilder is a web-based application, so governments can install it on their own servers on-premise, or arrange hosting with Azavea or another provider. Once installed, an unlimited number of users can access the application from any computer.
