Additional Product Information
The communication programme TermComm is the software interface between the , alltronic capture hardware (time capture, BDE-terminals, access reading and compo-nents) and the SAP R/3 system, as well as for our own Client/Server software application MACRO-TIME 2000®, under Oracle7 and Oracle (R) Developer., 1.1.1 Supported operating systems, TermComm is applicable on UNIX and compatible UNIX derivatives respectively on all hardware platforms on which also the R/3 systems are running. Therefore, the TermComm may be installed on the same computer as the system SAP R/3. The communication is always realised as RFC (remote function call) and is based on TCP/IP., 1.1.2 Functionality, The MACRO-TIME Subsystem is connected to the SAP R/3 system via the SAP "PDC-interface KK1 (communication channel 1)"., The SAP system provides different charts with personal datas. Entries made on the capture termi-nal must be checked immediately with these datas and the result of the test (eg "entry accepted", "no access permission", "ID number invalid" etc) is shown on the terminal as message with text in clear. Each entry made on the capture terminal always includes a message, whether the entry is ok, respectively why the entry is not ok. , Only the valid entries are transmitted to SAP system. You can assume, that the charts provided by the SAP system are valid. Should the charts not be available for whatever reason, theoretically all entries would be invalid. Invalid entries must not be saved according to SAP. , 1.1.3 An emergency operating function , In case, that the connection between the capture hardware and TermComm, or the connection between TermComm and the SAP system is interrupted, an emergency operating function is abso-lutely necessary according to our experience in practice. However this function is not stipulated by SAP., An emergency operating function is available as additional option module., 1.1.4 Further information for SAP communication channel 1 (KK1), The detailed technical description of the standard interface KK1 is shown in the respective SAP document "CA-PDC interface" system R/3., 1.2 Additional modules, 1.2.1 Access control, Additional module for access/exit control of access entitlements under SAP KK1., As an alternative, alltronic offers an efficient access control independent of the SAP system., 1.2.2 External wage (salary) types, Additional module to capture external wage (salary) types (with Rel. 3.0)., 1.2.3 Emergency functions (offline operating), Automatic memory of entries made through employees in case of an offline operating of the time capture terminal (eg interruption of date line), The recognition of an offline situation is made automatically. If one or more terminals are in such condition, an additional message is shown on the display with each realised entry., The entries are saved in the built-in memory card. As soon as the online connection is again availa-ble, an automatic transmission of all saved entries is made to the system. , 1.2.4 Autorhythm of coming and going, With the standard device, the respective key for coming and going entries must be selected., The additional function "autorhythm for coming and going" recognises the correct status when entry is made on terminal, i.e. the rhythm going " coming " going is recognised without selecting the re-spective key. , 1.2.5 Show of functions as pictogrammes, Combination of functions with text in clear and pictogrammes (icon). This is very convenient for employees with foreign language. , 1.2.6 Entry display, A further module which is very appreciated by employees is the display of all entries for personal control. The display of all entries on the time capture terminal covers following periods:, Actual day, Actual week (Monday to Friday), Date related entry display (the last 7 days), 1.2.7 Individual multilingualism of messages, A not used field in the mini master database of SAP HR module may be defined customer specifi-cally as a language code. With this option a language can be allocated to each person. , 1.3 TermComm and time capture terminals, 1.3.1 The software TermComm takes following jobs:, 1. Data exchange with the time capture terminals., 2. Verification of entries provided by the time capture terminals according to the master datas of SAP R/3 system ., 3. Intermediate memory of entries., 4. Data exchange with SAP R/3 system., 5. Memory of the datas provided by the SAP R/3 system (master datas, balances etc.), 6. All entries (also refused entries) are additionally saved in a separate table., 1.3.2 The time capture terminals take following jobs:, 1. Menu guided function selection., 2. Receipt of entries and respective transmission to TermComm., 3. Display and text in clear of received verification results from TermComm (eg "entry accepted")., 4. Display of balances and entries., 5. Memory of entries in offline operation., 1.4.3 Connectable reading types, Following readings (identification for selection):, 1. Magnetic card reading, 2. Infrared reading, 3. Inductive reading, 4. Legic chip reading without contact, 1.5 The menu guide, 1.5.1 The menu levels, With the two cursor keys which are located on the left and on the right side of the display, the user may scroll between the max. 8 menu levels. On each level there are max. 5 functions shown on the bottom line of the display. A function is selected by pushing the related function key. , 1.5.2 Possible functions for SAP R/3 connections, For time capture by SAP connections only following functions are possible :, 1. Display:, One balance display and various entry displays are available. The displays are combined in a sub menu which can be called up with the function "INFO"., 2. Simple function:, Simple functions only require the identification of the user by means of the card. No other entries or selections can be made., SAP R/3 Rel. 2.x knows only following simple functions:, Coming, Going, Start, End, SAP R/3 Rel. 3.0 knows following additional simple functions:, Start of break, End of break, 3. Functions with indication of a presence/absence reason, This function requires an entry of a presence/absence reason before the user identification., With SAP R/3 Rel.x 2 following functions know a presence/absence reason:, Start, End, With SAP R/3 Rel. 3.0: following additional functions know a presence/absence reason:, Coming, Going, Functions with indication of a presence/absence reason may also be defined as simple function (presence/absence reason = 4 blancs), The selection of presence/absence reasons may be made as follows:, a) Entry of the four digit code on the digit key board. However, this necessitates that the HR module of the SAP system only uses decimal codes for presence/absence reasons (the re-spective field is defined alpha numerically in SAP HR) and that time capture terminals with digit key boards (type 2032) are in use., b) Reading of barcodes. , This requires a time capture terminal with barcode pen or -scanner, as well as an information with all presence/absence reasons as barcodes put on the time capture terminal., c) Selection menu on the display, The selection of the defined presence/absence reasons (text in clear) are made with the cur-sor and function keys., 4. Function external wage (salary) types (SAP R/3 Rel. 3.0) (OPTION), This function can be used for non presence orientated applications such as eg. canteen dates, tank up date capture etc.., For external wage (salary) type following datas must be entered:, Number and units or, Amount or, Number, units and amount, The entry may be made in the same way (three possibilities) as described above for the pre-sence/absence reason., During the verification process (time capture terminal transmits entries to TermComm, TermComm verifies and transmits the result back to the time capture terminal) a function cannot be broken off., 1.6 Accessories, 1.6.1 Barcode pen / Barcode scanner, The barcode pen HBSW-8200 or a scanner can be connected on the bottom of the time capture terminal by means of a plug directly on the RS 232 interface. To handle the barcodes, the respecti-ve software module (optional) is required. , 1.6.2 Holder for barcode pen / barcode scanner, A synthetic wall holder is available for the barcode pen HBSW-8200. , The respective wall holders for the scanner can be provided directly from the supplier., 1.7 Terminal - entry memory, Panasonic memory-cards (ram cards) with integrated battery are built in in each unit. This guaran-tees, the datas remain saved on the card up to 12 months also without electricity supply., RAM-capacity 1 MByte 512 kByte 256 kByte 128 kByte 32 kByte, Circle buffer 16-384 8-192 4-096 2-048 512, History- entries*) 127-556 63-778 31-850 15-866 3-900, Balances*) 4-800 2-400 1-200 600 140, *) History-entries and balances are in the same memory area, i.e. the figures cannot be cumulated, , but require a mix calculation., The mentioned service remarks in this document are permanently adapted and completed according to updated knowledge and customer requirements. , The descriptions serves with priority to show the individual opportunities to provide an efficient and user-friendly capture unit to the employees.
