ClaimsPath is a server-based, internet-accessed hosted or licensed application that facilitates the buying, selling and management of goods and services required to settle a P&C insurance claim within a framework of good claims management. All communications are conducted over the Internet.

The initiator of a claim, (adjuster, broker, vendor, etc.), creates assignments (e.g. arranges a rental car or auto damage repair, finds a property replacement source, arranges for a construction repair contractor) and sends those assignments to the appropriate supplier participants. Supplier participants, in turn, provide the adjuster with information and assignment status so that the adjuster can manage the entire claim process within ClaimsPath. Information flowing between the adjuster and the supplier may be in the form of specific ClaimsPath formatted data fields, or in the form of attached documents such as images, data extracts from third party programs specific to the supplier industry, word processing documents, and other similar documents. Data collected as a result of the claims process is stored for retrieval in the form of management reports and can be transferred into the insurance company’s claims system.
