Additional Product Information

The system is designed to take full benefit of electronic trading and other data available electronically. Details from the Company Signing Message and the Common Core Record, can be directly downloaded into a policy or temporary policy record held within MARINER. MARINER also takes information from Lloyd's Register and marries it to internal information to build vessel histories. This enables an underwriter to have easy access to data with which to gauge a fleet's likely quality of ownership and management, including individual vessel statistics. , Claims, The claims module provides comprehensive claims servicing down to individual claim reference (Market UCR), from the initial notification of claims data, through to payments and recoveries together with any required adjustments to Reserves. Input to the claims system can be either by electronic entry (CLAMS) or manual entry. Claims may be linked to specific events at any stage during their life, for a possible recovery under a company's own excess of loss recovery program. , On-line and printed reports are available to monitor and report claims movements and catastrophe aggregations. Full claims history enquiries are provided to enable the tracking and monitoring of claims. Claim details are displayed as at any given date and claims can be split down to individual vessels where the premium has also been split. , It is also possible to link MARINER to City Computer's RECOVER - a system designed to ensure the timely and accurate recovery from outward reinsurance contracts., Accounts, The MARINER Accounting System comprises the following:, Brokers Ledgers: Accounts are kept per broker, per bureau, for both current and deferred transactions, the latter being automatically released to the current accounts on the due dates. The current accounts are maintained, not only by currency for each broker, but also by settlement week for bureau signings. The system has automatic matching, reconciliation and exception reporting., Cash and Banking: All cash received and paid updates both the brokers' accounts (bureau or non-bureau) and cash books by Bank and Currency. The latter enables the system to produce for each bank, an on-line, real time bank balance by currency and account. A full range of options is provided to service multi-currency settlement arrangements. , General Ledger: The General Ledger is fully multi-currency and can be used either standalone or integrated with other modules. , Reports, Three types of reporting system are available within MARINER:, On-line Enquiry and reporting facilities are integrated at every level of the system. , Ad-hoc Reporting The ability for users to produce ad hoc reports has been greatly enhanced by the provision of the Graphical Query Language (GQL), which in effect gives an easy to use graphical interface to SQL, the industry standard for producing ad hoc enquiries/reports. , Batch Reporting Standard reports are produced covering every aspect of a company's activities, including DTI requirements. These can be produced on demand or on a set periodic basis. Reports for Underwriting, Claims, Accounts and Statistical purposes may be produced on an 'Underwriting Year' or 'Year of Account' basis, accumulative, per currency and in the main reporting currency (e.g. Sterling) at both Gross and Net Retained level, and per Outward Treaty Bordereau.
