Festino
Festino is the sales force automation solution offered by Set Mobile.
Festino fully integrates several business compartments:
- The sales manager
- The sales agents
- The delivery department
- The accounting department
The application functions on the mobile devices at the disposal of sales agents.
The sales agents have up to date access to:
- company’s product portfolio (prices, discounts, stocks)
- key client data (orders pending, unpaid bills, cash received as payment)
- clients’ visiting routing
The sales agents can register:
- orders
- returns
- cash received as payment
- clients complaints
- competitors offers
Festino can function in Pre Selling or Van Selling mode.
In Van Selling mode, the sales agents can print the bill on the spot, using a regular printer.
The application synchronises itself with the company’s ERP via a remote connection (GPRS, 3G). In the synchronization process the documents registered by the sales agent are transferred to the ERP and the new elements are loaded: new bills, price changes, stock changes etc.
Festino has a module for the sales managers. The back-office module has a number of functions, of which more important are:
- offer management (discounts, promotions)
- sales monitoring (dally sales reports, whole sales reports)
- routing programming
- competitors monitoring
- sales force monitoring (daily reports, periodic reports)

SFA Festino is a distributed system in which interact the following modules:

Festino Mobile Application
Supported mobile devices:

Festino Mobile application is built on superwaba™ technology, which gives it
portability on every significant mobile device on the market.

Data synchronization:
• By mobile connection GPRS / UMTS / CDMA (the mobile device must
have a GPRS / UMTS / CDMA modem and must be connected to a
mobile phone operator)
• By data cable (client’s LAN connection or Internet connection)
Data flow / sales agent / month: 10-20 MB, depending on the sales agent
activity.
The moment of synchronization is decided by the sales agents.
The synchronization duration by mobile connection: 2-3 minutes (it depends
on the size of the client’s database and on the number of changes between
two synchronizations).
The Synchronization Server
Festino uses the Sync4j Synchronization Server provided by Funambol.
Sync4j runs on the Apache Tomcat 5.16 application server.
Installing:
Set Mobile recommends the installation of the Sync4j Synchronization Server
on a PC with the following minimal configuration: 2,8 GHz processor, 512 MB
RAM memory, 30 GB hard disk, Internet connection.
For a faster access to data, the Sync4j Synchronization Server can be
installed on the same computer as the client’s database server.
Supported datasources:
Thanks to his architecture with a high level of abstraction, Sync4j supports a
wide variety of datasources, including the most common database systems:
Oracle, Sql Server, My Sql etc.
The Synchronization Server Functions:
Sync4j Synchronization Server synchronizes the data on the mobile devices
with the client’s ERP data and Festino Back Office data. The Synchronization
Server transfers between these applications the data that suffered changes
(insert, change of value, delete) after the previous synchronization process.
The Synchronization Server compares the date of the previous
synchronization process with the date of the analyzed data changing and
transfers only the information changed after the last successful
synchronization.
Number of simultaneous connections supported:
The multithreading architecture of the Sync4j Synchronization Server allows
thousands of simultaneous user connections.

Festino Back Office Application
Festino Back Office runs on the Apache Tomcat 5.16 application server.
Installing:
Festino Back Office is installed on the same application server as the Sync4j
Synchronization Server; it does not need another PC.
Data security:
• User authentification is crypted
• Data exchanges between the mobile devices and client’s ERP are
crypted
• The access into the system is blocked for the stolen mobile devices
