Additional Product Information
Vsystem provides structure and stability to process control and SCADA systems. Our software increases productivity, expands performance, and provides continuity. Vsystem links the many levels of information systems at your facilities, integrating your organization's flow of information. "Vsystem," says one customer, "is the glue that holds our system together." Vsystem is known for speed, cross platform and customer support. Speed is in the millisecond range. Cross-platform means that it is the same product on eight computer platforms and they can be intermixed in a system freely. Support means that developers answer the telephone. Vsystem runs on eight computer platforms including NT/2000/XP, Solaris, tru-64 UNIX, VMS (VAX and Alpha), Linux and Concurrent PowerUX and RedHawk.
Vaccess® - a networked, user-extendable, real-time database and library of access routines. Unique event-driven architecture results in superior performance, speed, scalability, manageability, and security. Vaccess is similar in structure to an electronic crate - like a VME crate - into which a variety of independent modules plug. Java server available. ODBC and OPC for NT/2000 under development, due in 2002.
Vdraw® - With our graphics tool kit, Vdraw , our users quickly create simple or sophisticated data acquisition and control screens. Vdraw includes:
* many interactive objects for connecting to Vaccess with just a few keystrokes like strip charts and graphs
* simultaneous drawing and active (live) modes
* quick point-and-click operations
* a user interface based on Xwindows and Motif or Microsoft Windows
* extensive external control of Vdraw screens
* high performance
* Web display using Java under development - some functionality available now.
ValarmTM - Alarm checking is done in Vaccess. Our interactive alarm tool monitors channels (similar to point or tag) in your system, signaling warnings and alarms both audibly and visually.
The Vaccess database supports the following alarm types:
* Upper Alarm (HIGH-HIGH)
* Upper Warning (HIGH)
* Lower Warning (LOW)
* Lower Alarm (LOW-LOW)
* Binary Alarm (Discrete)
* Value Match
* Hardware Error I/O Error
VloggerTM - records data to disk from your Vsystem database at specific time intervals, when channel values change, or by a trigger event. All 3 types of Loggers can be gated.
With Vlogger you can :
Log data at better than millisecond rates...
Log any field of any channel...
Log local or remote database channels...
Access (read from) logs while they are being written to...
Timestamp data at the source or within Vlogger...
Store data in compressed binary files and easily convert those files to ascii format...
Run multiple loggers at different rates capturing data from the same database...
Define circular logs so that data is kept only for a defined time or disk space.
Merge, extract copy data and log files
Access data in log files using Vlog/SQL
Vlogger/playback - you can play back a log file into a real-time database to determine problems, train operators, or perform useful analyses of "what if" scenarios. Playback can also be used to play pre-recorded scenarios.
VtrendTM - a history and trending tool for viewing logged data graphically. Vtrend gives you the tools needed to export the data that you are viewing to a spreadsheet, or flat file, or report generator formats. You may choose to reduce the amount of exported data by filters.
VscriptTM - a high level scripting language which interfaces transparently with Vaccess. Vscript enables you to connect to any Vscript server on the network, monitor running scripts, or start and debug new ones remotely
.
VscanTM - an active connection between Vaccess and I/O hardware for easy customization.
VczarTM - an active agent that acts as the Vsystem Network Task Manager. Allows applications and users to perform database control in a network environment.
I/O Connections and Openness - we publish the interfaces to Vsystem so that our customers have a choice in developing or extending their system. Presently we have a Modbus scanner that will talk over Ethernet, serial lines and radio links. We have an RTP scanner in progress against a customer order and we have an OPC Client for NT/2000/XP and we have some interfaces to other IO which are a one-off. However, given that the IO has an API to talk to it or an OPC server available, then it is a simple question to either make the OPC connection or join the two APIs (one for the IO system and the other the Vaccess API) with a thread of code.
