The PubEasy solution provides standards for booksellers to do business with Affiliates directly over the web improving Customer Service and increasing the efficiency of the publishing supply chain.
PubEasy has built a registered user-base of over 11,000 booksellers from more than 110 countries. Booksellers, including trade and college independents, libraries, and trade & college bookstore wholesalers & chains, are accessing PubEasy web sites at companies including HarperCollins, AOL Time Warner, Penguin, Holtzbrinck Publishing, John Wiley and Sons, Random House, Little Brown and many others. In fact over 2,000 publishers and imprints are represented on PubEasy.
PubEasy is a wholly owned subsidiary of VISTA International which has been providing the publishing industry with author2reader(tm) solutions for over 24 years. The genesis of PubEasy was the result of industry research and publishing conferences VISTA sponsors every year. In PubEasy's case, their were several key attendees at the 1997 conference: From N to X: The Impact of Online Networks on the Publishing Value Chain , who evolved into VISTA partners for the initial development and continue to play an active role in PubEasy today.
PubEasy went live at the tail end of 1997 in the UK and quickly expanded capturing approximately 60% of the trade market within the first 24 months. Since then, PubEasy has expanded into the professional marketplace in the UK with John Wiley and Thompson Publishing joining, and moved to North America in late 1999 with Holtzbrinck, Random House- US & Canada, AOL Time Warner Book Group, HarperCollins, and other publishers and distributors joining the community.
Recently, PubEasy introduced the Central Services Database (CSD). CSD allows booksellers to make inquiries and place orders across the entire PubEasy title data base via subject, title, and author searches. This new feature opens the door for smaller sized companies to sit side-by-side with larger publishers leveraging the larger publishers' account base and expanding your customer base.
A key feature of CSD is the new Marketing section proactively marketing Affiliates to all 11,000 Users. CSD Marketing features include; new Affiliates, Affiliate "type" searches, new titles, best selling titles, author tour dates, and other ideas PubEasy receives from both Affiliate and Bookseller feedback. CSD provides Affiliates with more exposure and increased brand awareness while assisting booksellers in finding new titles of "niche" publishers to stock their shelves
PubEasy is a low risk investment with a high rate of return in brand building, market exposure, and sales.
