Additional Product Information

VSERV provides the ability to view and modify VSAM datasets to users of Phoenix Software International's CONDOR on-line editor, FALCON data entry system, and CYGNET programming language. Users can access KSDS, ESDS, RRDS, and SAM datasets. VSERV lets users display and select from a list of files within a selected VSAM catalog. A mask may be specified to limit the display of VSAM files. Accessing the contents of VSAM catalogs is password protected. A separate screen lists all datasets within a selected file. Alterations may be made to alphabetic and hexadecimal characters by typing over the existing characters. The alteration is saved when the Enter key is pressed. VSERV provides users the ability to scroll through VSAM files and scan for specific data. A tab function allows users to search for elements that are greater than, less than, or equal to a specified key. A special window provides data component statistics for a selected dataset, such as bytes of available space, logical record length, control interval size, number of allocated extents, etc. VSERV provides an optional security profile that may be installed to establish authorization levels for VSERV users. Phoenix Software provides documentation and 24-hour technical support.
