PDF Security
A
module for InterForm400
In line with the extended use of the
Internet and e-mail is becoming the preferred media of correspondence, PDF
security has been added as a module for InterForm400, enabling protection and authentication
of your PDF documents.
The PDF Security module consists of two
security methods. The first is the encryption and password protection of
documents. The second is the possibility of assigning digital signatures to
your documents.
Encryption & Password protection
The PDF security module will enable you
to encrypt and password protect
your PDF documents preventing un-intended people to read your business
documents and correspondence. The password protection will enable you to apply
a Master password and user password. Thereby you have one password for your own
organization and a particular one for the recipient of the documents.
Today most countries are requiring by
law that e.g. invoices must be encrypted and password protected, before these
can be send via e-mail and thereby be regarded as an original.
Digital Signature (Authentication)
Adding a Digital signature to a PDF
document is another way of adding security to your business documents. A
Digitally signed document ensures authentication and thereby ensures the recipient
of your documents that you are actually the sender of the document. When the
recipient receives the document, the digital signature can be verified via the
internet through the digital signature provider. This authentication is free of
charge.
Digital signatures can only be obtained
by a number of authorized companies in a country, securing the authentication
of the sender of PDF documents.
Daily use
Imagine that
sales reports, balance sheets or other sensitive documents could be sent via
e-mail and the documents could only be opened and read by the intended persons.
This is now the reality with the PDF security module. Also insurance policies
and bank statements could now be forwarded via e-mail.
Cost savings
The PDF security module will enable you
to send any kind of business documents and correspondence via e-mail and
thereby reduce or completely eliminate the use of mail postage and facsimile
costs. Most organizations are not aware of the amount of money used each year
on postage and fax related cost, however switching to using e-mail will result
in a ROI of the security module within 1 year.
