APEX Billing can be used in multiple configurations for both pre- and post-billing requirements. The first incorporates a Cisco VCO/4K switch where the billing database is using CDRs coming from the switch. For interactive applications this type of configuration may use the release link trunking (RLT) module, where a switch port receives the call and uses an IVR port behind the switch (OmniVox Intelligent Call Processor) for call setup and enhanced service options. The IVR port releases the call back to the switch for the duration and the call detail records or tickets coming from the switch are used to rate the call.;Three new enhancements provide increased efficiency and expanded capabilities. Two new modules have been added - Internet Billing and Dialer Access - as well as a Customer Contact Phone Directory that allows for unlimited entries per customer.
