With a full complement of communication blocks and powerful simulation engine, VisSim/Comm provides fast and accurate simulations for analog, digital, and mixed-mode communication systems. VisSim/Comm includes transmitters, receivers, modulators and demodulators, including standard analog, PSK, QAM and differential formats. Phase locked loops, including loop filter and VCO elements. Encoder blocks support both convolutional and trellis-based codes, such as the V.32 modem specification. RF components include amplifiers, mixers, splitters, attenuators, couplers and switches with noise and non-linear effects. A variety of predefined channel models are supported with both fixed and mobile service scenarios. Included are fading, multipath, bandlimited, and gaussian noise models. Each block is easily configured by a right mouse click to view a parameter dialog box. Engineers can also create custom blocks by via C code.
