DR/Xpert
DR/Xpert offers precise data set identification and minimizes the impact to daily production by identifying the data sets required for recovery. DR/Xpert does not select infrastructure data sets as critical application files, or those data sets that will be recreated during recovery. Using this method of only isolating data sets that are truly critical to application recovery, DR/Xpert significantly reduces the amount of data requiring backup and the amount of backup media required; saving money, reducing backup time requirements, and making the recovery process more efficient.
DR/Xpert interfaces with production job scheduling packages to dynamically trigger backups when the critical data identified by DR/Xpert is available for backup. The backup jobs can be triggered by last data set update, user-specified time or other criteria.
