Additional Product Information
PortFlash is a tool for network administrators and computer security professionals. It scans through a list or range of IP addresses and ports looking for running services such as FTP or HTTP. This is useful to in determining both if authorized services are functioning and also if there are unauthorized services running. If someone on the network has setup a rogue FTP or HTTP server, PortFlash can detect it. PortFlash is straightforward and easy to use: You define a range or list of IP addresses and ports to be scanned and then begin the scan. PortFlash will go through each IP address checking the ports specified and when it finds an open port it will report back. If the open port it finds is in the list of known ports it will inform you which services are generally run on that port. PortFlash can also optionally ping an IP address first before scanning it (to determine if a system is running on the IP). It can also run a DNS reverse lookup on each IP to determine the domain name assigned to each IP address.
