ACS Basic (iGuard) is an Internet-Ready Access Control System. The system is one of the first (if not the first) and the only security product in the market that uses TCP/IP as the protocol to communicate with the outside world. The protocol enables the device to directly connect to the corporate network via the existing cable wiring.
ACS Basic (i.Guard)'s embedded System enables all the computers in the corporate network to directly access the device via the well-known Internet Browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer & Netscape Navigator. The computers are platform-independent, and different computer platform such as Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows & Unix machines can access the device.
ACS Basic (i.Guard)'s built-in Database Server allows all these computers to query the information of the device, and can easily retrieve the various reports via the Internet Browser, such as the transaction logs, attendance reports, time sheets, and more. Through the ACS Basic (i.Guard) System you can control departments, users, multiple doors, etc. All the information is real-time information, instead of week-old or day-old data. In contrast, other systems must use dedicated computers running special proprietary software to retrieve the information, and usually dedicated persons are required to perform the jobs.
