Additional Product Information

Network security is an issue that's getting a lot of press these days. Viruses are, pervasive, and hackers are infiltrating sophisticated websites and corporate, environments of all kinds. But the emphasis on external threats is misguided. The, fact is, the greatest danger lies on the inside-employees with unauthorized access, to business-critical networks and proprietary data. The threat of insider attacks, requires security solutions that alert network managers in real time when unauthorized, network access occurs and automatically provide remedies before significant damage, is done. The only solutions that can do this today are DirectoryAlertand ServerAlert, from NetVision., THE PRODUCTS, When someone makes a change in your directory, or server files, whether he or she is an authorized, administrator or another insider with less-than pure, motives, someone in authority should know about it, and take action, disabling that person's account., Otherwise, you have no real deterrent in place and, no way to validate that your data and systems are, secure. DirectoryAlert and ServerAlert from NetVision, give you the security information and validation you, need. They provide real-time alerts when suspicious, directory object activity is detected in Novell Directory, Services (NDS) or on Novell servers, respectively., DirectoryAlert monitors changes to the NDS, database in real time and features solid logging, and messaging options, tracking how and when, changes were made to objects, ACLs, and security, rights in the NDS database. And, with the introduction, of DirectoryAlert 3 comes new functionality, most, notably NDS scripting/launch application features, collectively known as workflow logic. These features, allow DirectoryAlert 3 to, among other things, shut, down an account that is created with inappropriate, rights-like locking down the vault when a hold-up, is in progress. DirectoryAlert is the only real-time, solution of its kind on the market today., And now, with the recent addition of ServerAlert, to the NetVision product line, NetVision lets, administrators extend their ability to pinpoint, security breaks beyond the directory, all the way, to files and servers., ServerAlert is the only real-time, scalable alerting, product that provides real-time alerts when unautho-rized, data and server activity occurs. It monitors, Novell servers for file usage (open, create, modify,, delete), loading and unloading of server applications,, and even low memory problems., Working in unison, when monitored objects or, files are accessed or changed, DirectoryAlert and, ServerAlert send an immediate alert to the specified, administrators. Alerts can be sent in ODBC, LDIF,, Lotus Notes, CSV or XML formats; as e-mail, or as, text to a cell phone or pager; or in SNMP format, to network management systems such as CA, UniCenter TNG or Tivoli., Both DirectoryAlert and ServerAlert are easy to, install from a single location even on large, dispersed, networks. And they are non-intrusive. DirectoryAlert, and ServerAlert are event-driven systems. This means, that an event is only triggered and DirectoryAlert, and ServerAlert only take notice when a directory or server event occurs. They do not affect the core network operation system and can be installed or uninstalled with no impact on the operation of the network., Moreover, both products provide clear and concise reports that can be easily communicated and shared with others. They offer reporting options that let the administrator generate audits to immediately analyze their environment and easily create their own custom report templates to meet specific site and situational needs.
