Robot/CLIENT creates an operations automation team out of your iSeries and attached clients. It acts as a client event manager to integrate your servers into your iSeries procedures. Robot/CLIENT accomplishes the two-way communication necessary to automate the operations of non-iSeries servers and integrate these systems with the iSeries. Use Robot/CLIENT to initiate Windows or UNIX tasks from your iSeries and return a completion status; monitor server applications and services; and transfer files between the iSeries and non-iSeries systems. Robot/CLIENT can even run as a service on Windows and NT systems so it?s available to run tasks anytime. Robot/CLIENT also allows client systems to pass status information to the iSeries; send messages using Robot/ALERT; send job completion statuses to Robot/SCHEDULE, triggering a reactive job; or send a message to any iSeries message queue. Plus, it works with Robot/SAVE to allow the iSeries to back up attached client systems.
