CIMS for OpenVMS is a System Resource Accounting and Chargeback package used to collect, consolidate and report resource usage on OpenVMS platforms. CIMS for OpenVMS is fully integrated with CIMS for UNIX, CIMS for MVS and CIMS for NT for implementation of chargeback accross the entire enterprise. CIMS for OpenVMS has been a standard for chargeback in the OpenVMS environment since 1978.

CIMS for OpenVMS collects consolidates and reports system resources consumed by users. Users can be grouped by divisions, departments, agencies, cost centers, or whatever groupings are required by your organization. Usage by users can be assigned to projects and users have the ability to switch from one project to another within a login session. ;Resources can be reported by jobtype. Interactive, batch, print, detatched, database, etc. Rate tables are created to assign rates to the individual users and projects based on nodename, jobtype, shift, queue, instance or database. Different users can be assigned different rate tables on dofferent nodes to reflect the computing power of the various machines in a cluster.;Invoices and reports can be generated on the VMS platform or data can be imported into CIMS Desktop to be mixed with data collected and consolidated by CIMS for UNIX, CIMS for MVS, or CIMS for NT. CIMS Desktop can also receive input from any meter log allowing for chargeback that spans the entire enterprise.
