Micro Focus Net Express is the market leading COBOL development environment for Windows and UNIX platforms combining a rich Windows development environment with tools for creating and extending enterprise business processes written in COBOL. It has now been extended to create Net Express with .NET integrating COBOL with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET tooling, thereby allowing COBOL assets to be reused and extended within the Microsoft .NET Framework.
Net Express with .NET elevates COBOL to a “First Class Citizen” within the .NET Framework. As with Microsoft languages COBOL applications will compile to MSIL (Microsoft Intermediate Language) and execute in conjunction with the Microsoft CLR (Common Language Runtime).
