What data do you need to export today? Overview Export*It is a utility Lotus Notes application that allows for the easy export of data items from documents in a Notes database to native delimited flat file format. It has been designed to compliment Fulton's other Notes products, but it can be used with most other Notes database. The file created as output of the export process can easily be imported or opened by other desktop products such as Microsoft Excel or Lotus 123. Export*It enhances the reporting capability of Lotus Notes/Domino by allowing you to export data and then use common desktop tools to manipulate and present the data. In short, Export*It is a powerful data exporting tool for Lotus Notes. Process Export*It provides an option for you to use the standard Notes catalog to locate the source database you wish to export or alternatively you may provide the source database filename directly yourself. Once the source database has been identified, Export*It provides you with a list of views contained within the source database. The views specify the collection of documents you wish to export. Export*It then provides you a choice in the way it locates the fields. Export*It interrogates the first and last document in the selected view for fields; scans the whole view for fields or allows you to enter the field names. You then select the fields you require exported. Exported data is written to a flat operating system native file. You provide a filename and you can select the delimiter outputted between the fields written. The first line of the file contains the field names. Templates The above options are specified in a document 'template'. The document may be saved and therefore is available for reuse at a later stage. This provides a mechanism for saving export criteria for reuse at later. Caveat Export*It is designed to export Text, Numbers and Date fields only. Errors may be generated if you export other types.
