APPX is a complete, state-of-the-art, platform independent, Rapid Application Development (RAD) and runtime environment that provides the capability to quickly and efficiently develop and deploy full-featured business applications. APPX is available on all popular platforms. APPX offers true, cross-platform compatability. Design on any platform, run on any platform. APPX can be used to design both character mode and GUI mode applications. Character mode applications can be run in either character mode or with the APPX Client with an auto-GUI presentation. APPX includes a powerful indexed file access method. Also included is an ODBC driver that allows ready access to APPX data files by Windows programs such as Excel, Access, Crystal Reports, etc. APPX also offers interfaces for Oracle, Sybase, Vision, C-ISAM, and, via ODBC, SQL Server and Access. APPX includes a powerful language translation capability which allows you to design and maintain your applications in English and deploy in multiple languages of your choice. APPX utilizes a client/server implementation. The APPX Client is written in Java and can run standalone or as a Java applet in a browser. The APPX Client also provides desktop integration services including file transfers between the server and the client, remote printing via the client, and the ability for the server to launch applications on the client. APPX also includes a web interface which allows html pages to interface with APPX via cgi scripts.
