CYGNET, is a sophisticated 4GL (fourth generation, language) that includes a comprehensive data dictionary, a diverse screen painter, an extensive trace and debug facility, and access to IBM® databases. CYGNET generates complete, independent modules rather than interpretive code. CYGNET's data dictionary allows you to design screen panels, data structures, and create field edit tables on-line. CYGNET's Trace/Debug facility lets you set break points and display and alter storage to quickly diagnose and fix problems. CYGNET supports all data types. PL/1-like syntax makes string manipulation easy and gives you the added ability of all arithmetic and geometric functions. CYGNET programs execute as CICS transactions, as batch, programs, or under CONDOR, Phoenix Software, International's own screen editor and library management facility. CYGNET runs on any IBM z/Series, System/370, System/390, 30XX, 4300, 9370, ES/9000®, or compatible under, any variant of MVS/SP/XA/ESA or VSE/SP/ESA. Cygnet features include:
