Additional Product Information

Simplicity for Mobile Servers is a visual end-to-end J2EE/J2ME mobile wireless development toolset that provides Java developers with a true WYSIWYG integration of the data source, Servlet and MIDlet. Dream no more! With Simplicity for Mobile Servers™, you can develop, view, and test Servlets and MIDlets simultaneously. Take a look at how Simplicity for Mobile Servers, our visual RAD Tool, can integrate your enterprise and J2ME/MIDP projects. Simplicity's exclusive Execution-On-The-Fly™ code execution means changes to Servlets and MIDlets can be viewed immediately. And with our Transaction Engine, transmitting portable information is no longer a hassle. Simplicity for Mobile Servers visually guides your development as it mobilizes your applications with ease.

Simplicity for Mobile Servers fosters a truly integrated life-cycle development process. Take a look at how this integrated suite of Simplicity tools can put your Enterprise/MIDP creations on the road to success. The suite includes an extended version of Simplicity for Mobile Devices for creating J2ME/ MIDlets and Simplicity Enterprise for creating J2EE/Servlets.

Simplicity™ for Mobile Servers includes a complete development web server. Every change you make is instantly available for testing through the web client of your choice, running any OS or browser on any computer on your network.Completed Servlets can be deployed on any J2EE compliant server.

Combined with an enhanced version of Simplicity for Mobile Devices, building robust enterprise level connection between J2EE and J2ME is a breeze. The XML Transaction Engine extends the standard version of Simplicity for Mobile Devices. This module allows the user to make an http connection between the MIDlet and the integrated servlet that is being designed in Simplicity Enterprise. The user would specify the responses and requests to be sent and received. XML data comming from the Servlet will be parsed and mapped by the XML Transaction Engine.

Our cross-platform RAD tool for J2ME/MIDP, is packed with the same features the Simplicity family of Java tool solutions are known for, including our Visual Composer, Execution-On-The-Fly™, code execution and Code Sourcerer™. And our flexible MID Emulator helps you build and test MIDlets while adapting to the needs of your particular device.

Simplicity for Mobile Servers help you leverage the power of your existing applications. Now you can add functionality to your Servlets including working with JDBC/ODBC databases, and XML documents and files. Using our Database Tool, you can select tables, choose which columns to display, and which rows to include...all without writing a single line of SQL. And every SQL statement that you create can integrate seamlessly into your user interface with simply a click of a mouse. You can choose where the data should be displayed and which components should control where statements are executed. You can even choose to substitute values from a component into your SQL statement, so that end users can specify values that will become part of the query.

If you have some data that doesn't fit into one of the pre-installed Simplicity modules? No problem. Simplicity for Mobile Servers provides an open API where developers can add their own custom modules into MIDP applications, allowing you to meet both individual and industry-specific needs.

The XML Transaction Engine provides a powerful method of integrating back-end database information with a front-end mobile system. With the Transaction Engine, you no longer need to write a custom parser that accepts and sends XML data between a server and handset. Just take a look at what the engine can accomplish: It automates the transfer of data between the server and mobile device. It integrates the information into the MIDP application. It Caches requests, asynchronously sending requests when the server is not available. Caches XML responses to provide information when the server is not available.

Simplicity for Mobile Servers supports an iterative, interactive development environment. Developers can access back-end servlets and front-end MIDlets at the same time, while having the benefits of our Execution-On-The-Fly™ code execution found only in Simplicity products. So altering your program is simply a matter of dragging and dropping a module and sending XML data back and forth.
