Additional Product Information
XGEN is a COBOL-like 4GL programming tool that has matured from its creation in 1984. XGEN runs on Win32, Unix and UNISYS Mainframes. XGEN generates COBOL for the target platforms that will compile and run on WIN32, Unix (using Merant COBOL (Microfocus)), Unisys V Series, UNISYS A Series and IBM MVS/DB2. The same XGEN source can target different platforms enabling testing on Windows or Unix, but production on a mainframe. XGEN improves programmer productivity up to ten fold. XGEN has the knowledge to generate different I/O commands from the same source for the different databases. XGEN supports standard files, DMSII, DB2, ORACLE, Informix, Sybase, SQLServer and ODBC. XGEN also generates for several data-comm environments including COMS, CICS, OLTP, Tuxedo and XMCS for Unix/Win32.
