Year Founded: 2008
Company Type: Privately Owned

Build it Live was formed in 2008 with the goal of enabling small and medium sized construction related companies to take advantage of modern communication and collaboration technologies. To date, most solutions built for Contractors, Architects and others have been designed for large enterprises, costing thousands of dollars and taking weeks or months to implement. Large construction companies have the financial and people resources to purchase and use sophisticated tools to manage their businesses. Smaller outfits simply don’t. They need inexpensive, easy to use solutions that can increase their productivity without a significant investment of money or training time.

One of the most common challenges on a construction project is making sure everyone involved has the most current drawings from which to construct the project. Drawings can change frequently as work gets underway and complications arise. In today’s world of electronic communication, often the lead design firm or General Contractor emails multiple versions of drawings to all the parties involved on the project. Participants on the job must sort through these versions, discarding old ones and distributing the latest version to those in the field. The ease of email has resulted in a huge proliferation of written project related communication. For those with multiple projects occurring simultaneously, it becomes a significant effort to manage all the drawings, all the RFIs, and other project related information. Build it Live is designed specifically to address these information management issues. It is a powerful solution, yet very easy to use, and inexpensive.
