whatIf? Technologies is an Ottawa-based provider of software technology, consulting and services for systems models and simulation. These simulation models are used for strategic planning and scenario analysis, as well as risk analysis, policy analysis and education. Applications are broad, spanning Urban & Regional Planing, Energy Analysis, long-term Human Resources planning, Natural Resource Management and more.
Our three areas of business focus are:
Technology. We provide a complete and integrated software environment for the development and use of simulation models.
Custom Modelling. We work with clients to design and implement simulation models, based on our whatIf? Technology platform. Our custom modelling work spans a wide range of applications including: urban and regional planning; energy analysis; natural resource management; demography; sustainable development; human resource planning; and financial simulation.
Application Products. We provide rapidly assembled simulation models using pre-built model components. Application products leverage the collection of common modelling components we have developed for a particular application area, built up over decades of custom modelling experience. Currently we offer application products in two areas: Urban and Regional Planning, and Energy Analysis.
